2. Data We Process & Why
- Local Storage: We use browser Local Storage to save your game progress and preferences (e.g.,
playpile:dailyDoneto enforce daily game locks,playpile:byo:discoveredfor item progression, andplaypile:help-shown:[game]to remember if you have already seen the tutorial). This data stays entirely on your device and is not sent to our servers. - Cookies: The site contains a technical cookie (
sidebar_state, expires in 7 days) to remember UI preferences. - Server Logs: Our infrastructure automatically processes basic connection data (IP addresses, browser type) to deliver the website securely.
3. Third-Party Services
- Hosting: Our site is hosted via Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes server logs and network traffic to optimize performance and security.
- Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics to understand general site traffic and usage patterns. Plausible is a privacy-first web analytics service that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and is fully compliant with GDPR. All data is aggregate-only.
- Fonts: We load web fonts directly from Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com). When your browser requests these fonts, Google may receive your IP address and device details.
4. What We Do NOT Collect
We do not use marketing cookies, tracking pixels (like Meta), Google Analytics, user accounts, payment processors, or newsletter sign-ups.
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the EU GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or delete any personal data. Since we do not store your data on our servers, you can clear your local data at any time by clearing your browser cache/cookies.
